Students Receive The Michael Gordon Foundation Scholarship Award

This morning a few of our high school students were awarded The Michael Gordon Foundation Scholarship Award.

Michael Gordon was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1923. In 1951 he arrived in New York and within a few years, he achieved his life dream of becoming an American citizen.

For 30 years he designed handbags for designers such as Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Givenchy, and more. While he became successful, he made sure to never forget his humble beginnings and wanted to be able to give something back.

In 1991, he established The Michael Gordon Foundation to aid children under the age of 18 in areas of education, health, and welfare. Even though he passed in 1998, the Michael Gordon Foundation continues to give back, including to our NDA students!

Congratulations to our recipients!
