Daily Prayer - Week of May 18

Prayer for Friday, May 22, 2020

Dear God,

Our campus, our neighborhoods, our world long for the peace that can only come from You. Help us to place our cares and our hearts in Your hands. Your Son taught us to trust in You and the mystery of the cross and Resurrection and Promised when He ascended, to send His Spirit of Life and Love to ABIDE within and among us.

Help us, when we are afraid to trust in you and your promise of new life. May we Smile in the Comfort of Your abiding presence and Love. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen!

Prayer for Thursday, May 21, 2020

Dear Lord Jesus Christ,

right before your Ascension into heaven, You told Your apostles to be Your witnesses to the ends of the earth upon receiving the Holy Spirit.

May I be similarly inspired to spread your Gospel message in Word and Deed, according to Your will for me. And may I do so prudently and joyfully, with Your Help, Guidance, and Grace!

And, remembering this glorious event of You returning to the Father, help me to seek what is above, Heaven, where you are seated at the right hand of God the Father!

Thank You for Your Love and Trust in ME, to be Your Disciple, Proclaimer of the Good News of You abiding Love for All People.

Amen.

Prayer for Wednesday, May 20, 2020

Dear God, we are blessed daily by Your everlasting love. It is with Hope and Gratitude that we are reminded about our blessings and gifts, including this beautiful earth. Please God, stay with us as we enter a new phase in this virus affecting our communities.

As our leaders find a way to bring us into our new way of living, safely and cautiously, remind us how to push forward with confidence and proceed slowly,  with care, into reopening.  Thank you for the sunshine and happier days.  We are uplifted with the spring songbirds and new flowers to greet our days.

We pray for ALL of us around the world.  Amen.

Our Lady and St. Marguerite, stay with us.

Prayer for Tuesday, May 19, 2020

May all that is chaotic in me, come to silence. May I know a calming of the clamoring, a stilling of the voices that have laid their claim on me, that have made their home in me, that goes with me even to the holy places but will not let me rest, will not let me hear my life with wholeness or feel the grace that fashioned me, YOU, O God.

Let what distracts me cease.  Let what divides me cease. Let there be an opening into the QUIET that lies beneath the chaos, where I find the Peace I had forgotten, that is GOD residing in me, shimmering within the storm.

Prayer for Monday, May 18, 2020

Our inspiration for prayer comes from one medical worker in New York, on her way back to work in the hospital helping patients with the coronavirus: “Each day, we try to Love BIGGER, Care BIGGER."

God of hope, help me to live joyfully in an imperfect world, the world of the good, the bad, and the ambiguous.

May I live in this real world with enthusiasm, and not be disheartened by negative things I see and experience. May I bet with my whole life that a better world is not only possible but on the way.

Give me the quiet grace to hear You breathing us into a new way of living and caring for each other and for our common earth.

Amen.
